Dermatophytes, or fungal spores, thrive in warm moist environments. Feet, exposed to moist showers and the dark, moist environment of shoes, are most susceptible to the wrath of these fungal spores. Dermatophytes often enter the toenail through the nail and the nail bed or through tiny cuts in the toe. From there, they destroy the nail from below, making it crack and split.  Watch this video to help prevent toenail fungus!
