Fall means all kinds of new arrivals in the fashion world, and that includes celebrities’ latest attempts to turn themselves into clothing designers. Celeb-endorsed fashion lines can sometimes feel insincere and half-baked. It’s hard to tell the difference between a true passion project a star was involved in the nitty-gritty of and a project that’s just another chance for them to slap their name on something. Still, there are some diamonds in the rough out there that, passion projects or not, are delightfully stylish and full of personality. Some are new this season, and others are old fan favorites, but these ten celebrity fashion lines are actually worth loving.
1Alexa Chung, “Alexa Chung x AG”
Alexa Chung’s latest collection with AG is all about gorgeous denim and the almighty button-up skirt. Who knew how badly we needed denim rompers in our lives?
2Reese Witherspoon, “Draper James”
It’s always the dream to be able to buy the exact duplicate of a paparazzi outfit you love instead of attempting to haphazardly recreate it from whatever you’ve got in your closet, am I right? Just me? Either way, Reese Witherspoon launched Draper James, which she named after her grandparents, to bring some bright Southern prep to the world, and she’s become her own best advertisement by wearing pieces from the line on the regular.
3Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, “Elizabeth and James”
When the Olsen twins created Elizabeth and James, they told Women’s Wear Daily that the line was meant “to be based on a relationship between a young girl and a boy and tell the story through clothing…It’s a clash between masculinity and femininity.” Bonus points for Elizabeth and James’ irresistible fragrances, which I’m totally addicted to.
4Ellen DeGeneres, “ED by Ellen”
Ellen’s amazing GapKids collaboration is getting her lots of attention, but she’s also creating clothes for grown-ups these days via her ED by Ellen lifestyle brand. Like her kids’ line, the collection moves in a more gender-neutral direction and ensures everyone who wears the brand feels like their true selves in the clothes.
5Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, “Lovanna”
Nicole’s clothing line at The Snooki Shop keeps expanding. Her brand’s many divisions like Snooki Love, Curve, SLNP, will soon be complemented by her latest addition, Lovanna. Polizzi told YouBeauty that the collection is named after her kids, Giovanna and Lorenzo, and that “it’s more like elegantwear, contemporary chic, just a little bit more dressy.” The collection will be be available online in December.
6Melissa McCarthy, “Seven7”
Melissa McCarthy’s hotly anticipated clothing line is available for the first time September 1. The price range will be from $54 to $169, and the brand’s mission is to “give women a whole new closet. To make all women love to shop again. To help women lose ‘the uniform’ and discover their own personal style. To make women feel great about themselves!” Can’t go wrong with that!
7Carrie Underwood, “CALIA”
Carrie is the owner of some of the most stunning stems in the music industry, so it’s only right that she has her own activewear line. She collaborated with Dick’s Sporting Goods to bring her fans a collection of fun, cheerful gear and accessories that can be worn both in and out of the gym.
8Jessica Simpson, “Jessica Simpson”
Jessica’s line is a modern mainstay of department stores, and it’s easy to see why. Her vibrant, flirty creations (especially those shoes) are hard not to love.
9Rebel Wilson, “Rebel for Torrid”
Rebel Wilson’s limited edition collaboration with Torrid doesn’t hit shelves until November, but so far, we know that it will include about 25 pieces and the price range will be $28.50-$125. Even better, a spring collection will follow! We can’t wait!
10Kate Hudson, “Fabletics”
Kate Hudson’s activewear line offers a subscription program that provides members with new outfit options at the beginning of each month and heavy discounts. If you’re not into commitment, fret not — nonmembers can still order Fabletics’ adorable styles to their hearts’ content!
