Alyssa Milano’s trip through Heathrow Airport took a negative turn yesterday when the airport confiscated 10 ounces of her breast milk. The actress, who has been a vocal public supporter of breastfeeding in the past, is the mother of a seven-month-old girl, who was not with her while she was traveling (hence Milano’s need to pump her milk). She shared the story of having her baby’s milk confiscated with her 2.81 million followers on Twitter.

A social media representative for Heathrow replied on Twitter to explain that the rules are different if a baby isn’t present.

Milano responded, “[email protected] I would have happily spread milk in different containers (which I travel with) to comply to those liquid rules. Instead, milk was taken away with no discussion. Shampoo, lotions, etcetera were simply tested and handed back with no issue. Makes no sense at all.” She persists that the rules “make no sense.”

Thanks to Milano for defending pumping moms everywhere!
