Ever thought of pairing pesto pasta with a glass of milk? We’re guessing not, but you might want to try it. Researchers in the department of food science and technology at Ohio State University have shown that washing down a garlicky meal with milk lowers the concentration of sulfur compounds that give you bad breath. Whole milk is more effective than skim, and drinking dairy with the meal works better than waiting for dessert. Its natural stank notwithstanding, garlic provides vitamins C and B-6, and selenium, all of which are great for your skin.
