“Fifty Shades of Grey” is many things, and while its political correctness, sexual merits and/or place in modern pop culture history have been debated at length elsewhere (I have plenty of opinions, but that’s another post for another day), one of the less polarizing aspects of the movie is its fashion sense.

Anastasia and Christian’s clothing choices help create the chic, sensual world they live in, and follow Ana’s evolution from a shy young student to a woman in charge of her own sexuality. Most importantly, they’re just really damn pretty to look at, independent of whatever is going on in the plot.

If you’re looking to channel a little more subtle sensuality into your evening hour attire, take a cue from the world of “50 Shades” on your next shopping trip.

The peach dress Ana wore to meet Christian’s family was inspired by a piece Faye Dunaway wore in the 1968 film “The Thomas Crowne Affair.” It exudes femininity and even innocence while alluding to the desire just beneath the surface—in so many words, it’s a date night sartorial dream come true.
