Let’s face it: cardio is everyone’s least favorite part about working out. Running on the treadmill is the most common form of cardio, and 20 minutes on the treadmill can feel like hours. But, cardio can be fun if you do the right workouts.

Cardio goes beyond running on the treadmill or going on the elliptical. There are a lot of other ways to get your heart rate up and get a good cardio workout in.

Jump Rope
Jumping rope can be fun, and it’s a great cardio workout. Try skipping for intervals of one minute on, one minute off for 10 minutes, and you’ll be sweating by the end of it.

Swim
Swimming is a fantastic cardio workout as it engages all the muscles in your body and gets your heart rate up. At the same time, it’s low-impact, so you won’t feel so sore afterward.

Cycling
Cycling is another excellent form of cardio that can be way more exciting than running on a treadmill. Watch a cycling video on your phone so that you can incorporate other movements into the workout!

Stairs
Whether it’s the dreaded Stairmaster (which is a great cardio workout) or running up actual stairs, stairs are another form of cardio that’s going to get your blood flowing and increase your heart rate.

Zumba
If you’re looking for cardio that’s going to be fun, try Zumba. Who doesn’t like to burn calories while dancing?

Running
Running outside can be way more enjoyable than running on a treadmill. Maybe it’s because changing the scenery is nice or the fresh air is relaxing, but running outside is just so much better than running inside.
