YouTube star Whitney Thore from the Fat Girl Dancing Videos is about to become a reality TV star this January after TLC debuts her new show, “My Big Fat Fabulous Life, spinning-off her viral videos.Thore was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome in college and thought she would never dance again after she rapidly went from 120 to 380 pounds. Now age 30, the North Carolina woman shares her love of dance and her body with the world in videos like “A Fat Girl Dancing: Wiggle” (set to Jason Derulo ft. Snoop Dogg’s song “Wiggle”) and “A Fat Girl Dancing: Blurred Lines” (set to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” obviously):

Thore left her job as a radio producer to promote her blog/campaign, No Body Shame, full-time. On No BS., as she calls it, she opens up publicly about her struggle with her body image and the radical, “life-altering decision” she eventually made:

“[…] to love and accept herself as she is, to rise above the negativity that society forces upon anyone who is ‘different,’ to live her life to the fullest, regardless of what the scale says, and, most importantly, to dance.”

As People, reports, the nine-part series of “My Big Fat Fabulous Life” will follow Thore around her Greensboro, home, where she has recently moved back in with her parents.A message from Thore on her website states, “I never set out to be a voice in the body-positive movement. In fact, as recently as a year ago, my most significant life goals hinged solely on 200 pounds so I would fit into a body deemed attractive and acceptable by society.”“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” premieres on TLC on January 13.
