For many people, the morning is not complete without a cup of coffee. Not only does caffeine in coffee wake you up, but it also sets the mood for the day and gets you up out of bed. However, some people can’t drink coffee. Some people don’t like the taste, but some people can’t handle the caffeine.

The high amount of caffeine in a regular serving of coffee can often cause anxiety and nervousness for some people, creating a more stressful day. If you’re someone who doesn’t like or can’t drink coffee, that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy a nice drink in the morning. There are so many alternatives to coffee. Many are much lower in caffeine or don’t have caffeine at all. Here are some of our favorites:

1Matcha

Matcha is a type of green tea that has become a trendy coffee alternative. People tend to feel the impact of caffeine less with matcha than with coffee, even though it still can be high in caffeine. There are also a lot of other benefits of drinking matcha, such as reducing high blood pressure and helping with weight loss.

2Turmeric Latte

Turmeric Latte, or ‘golden milk’ as it’s often called, is an excellent alternative to coffee. It is a combination of spices, including ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, and black pepper. Golden milk is caffeine-free but still has that nice, warm feeling. Turmeric is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties, making it a super healthy choice.

3Chai Tea

Chai tea is another very popular coffee alternative that contains less caffeine than coffee but still wakes you up. Chai tea is a black tea that’s blended with strong herbs and spices and can be mixed with water or milk. Studies show that chai tea can lower the risk of heart disease and has powerful antioxidant properties.

4Kombucha

Kombucha, aka one of the most popular drink choices of the past year, is made from fermenting black tea with yeast, bacteria, and sugar. Kombucha is an acquired taste but is something that people claim you grow to love. Kombucha is full of probiotics and antioxidants, making a perfect drink for improving your gut health. It’s caffeine-free but still provides that boost of energy in the morning.

5Herbal Coffee

Herbal coffee is a coffee alternative that is caffeine-free but tastes very similar to coffee. If you still enjoy the taste of coffee but can’t handle the caffeine, herbal coffee is a great choice. Various herbs, grains, fruits, and nuts are roasted and ground to taste very similar to coffee.
